Unboxing Your God-Given Gifts

Often times life can make you feel like you are boxed in. Maybe you are at a job without any opportunity for advancement. Maybe you are in a relationship and it seems like nothing is ever going to change. Maybe you have an idea, but you don't feel that you have the opportunity to pursue it or the support needed. Did you know that you have several gifts and abilities inside of you that God has deposited in you, that are just waiting to be unboxed? There is so much potential and greatness locked on the inside of us. Thankfully, we serve a God who has the key to unlock it. Here are two benefits of unboxing your God-given gifts:

1. You discover more about yourself

We have no idea of what we are capable of until we put our trust and confidence in God. When we feel boxed in, we often begin to doubt ourselves. We begin to question if our dreams and ambitions are meant to be. By trusting that the ideas, goals, and desires we have are from God, we discover what God's best looks like for our lives because we allow him to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

2. You contribute to the Kingdom of God

We all have a part to play. When you unbox your gifts, you reach people who would otherwise be lost without your gifts. Your gifts are valuable and essential to the building of God's Kingdom. Your gifts will inspire, edify, and transform someone's life. Don't allow doubt and fear to keep you from unboxing the gifts that will change not only your life, but the life of someone else.

Paul told Timothy to stir up the gift within you ( 2 Timothy 1:6). That is to say "unbox the giftedness within you". Why? Because your gift is not just for you, but for the Kingdom of God. Timothy went on to shepherd the church at Ephesus, impacting many lives. Are you willing to unbox your gifts in faith? If you are, God is ready to use you to make a Kingdom impact. As always, stay rooted in God.

Verse of the week:

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV
